Value Way Inc. was officially founded on October 1, 2023 — International Coffee Day.

Our Mission

We believe that coffee supply chains can be a vehicle for regenerative impact. Value Way builds the data infrastructure that makes this measurable, verifiable, and actionable — from farm to cup.

From Roaster to Technology Company

Value Way grew out of Altarena Co., Ltd. (RIO COFFEE), a specialty coffee roasting company founded in 2005 in Kobe, Japan. Through years of direct relationships with coffee producers and participation in programs like JICA-IDB Lab TSUBASA and Kobe City’s ESG Innovation Program, we recognized that the coffee industry’s sustainability challenges are fundamentally data problems.

What We’re Building

CoPASS™ (now CoffeeID) — a traceability and carbon footprint measurement platform that connects every stakeholder in the coffee supply chain with verified, lot-level data:

• Producers gain visibility into their environmental impact and access to premium markets
• Exporters can demonstrate compliance with EUDR and sustainability standards
• Importers & Roasters can verify origin, quality, and carbon footprint per lot
• Consumers can trace their coffee back to the farm
